James Terry is well established and critically acclaimed producer of video production, photography, events, and musical theatre. Recent productions include the 7 Greenroom Awards Nominated production of LEGALLY BLONDE (Chapel off Chapel), RENT (Chapel Off Chapel), Motown Live (2016-18 Tour), Spice Up Your Life (Midsumma Festival 2018) and Melbourne’s musical theatre Industry Night in partnership with Musical Theatre International (MTI) Australasia.
Newly branded James Terry ‘Collective’, this title represents, acknowledges, and celebrates the collaborative nature of live art and media. Coming up to 10 years in the industry, James has established an incredible network of clients including Disney Theatrics, The Production Company, Gordon Frost Organisation, Michael Cassel Group, Life Like Company, Melbourne Theatre Company, Victorian Opera, Arts Centre Melbourne, and more.
With extensive marketing experience, James developed video content for AKA Australia with recent work on Muriel’s Wedding, Mamma Mia, and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. His content sparks conversation and delivers excellent ratings for social media and broadcast. During his time as the Head of Digital Media for TheatrePeople.com.au, the website and social accounts reached #1 for theatre video content in Australia with multimillion views.
James also founded the company Take the Mic Australia that has embraced thousands of performers across the east coast in singing competition and music events. Established to embrace and encourage rising young talent, the company is in its seventh year and recently produced Disney’s The Lion King Junior, an Australian community theatre premiere.
James has worked extensively as a musical theatre performer and director, developing a strong passion and diverse range of skills in multiple stagecrafts. This enables James to transfer the knowledge to capture and develop exceptional theatre content through various media.
